Do we have what it takes?   Blog by Domen,  Category: Editorial

We need to become more aggressive in distributing, marketing NoobFeed. Very true that many times companies, organizations, or groups lose on quality when they start working towards quantity, however if things are kept in fashion and passion, and if there are great leaders within the communities itself, then great content will not be diminished if one becomes more capitalistic, in a sense. On the internet, where there are infinite possibilities for people to rise up, have a voice, a power and a place, you have to be decisive, ruthless and creative. Furthermore, the more traffic one website receives, the bigger the possibility that some will create an account, thus making those members contributors to the quality and quantity of one’s website as well.

Therefore we need to unite. We need to as a community, may it be under different banners and beliefs, make a difference. You may not be a part of NoobFeed, but with hard work, assistance and contribution you very well could become one. Remember that those who are loyal to an organization, group, or whichever entity, are the ones that those same groups are thankful to in the end, as they were a part or a major factor in the startup of one company, or in the realization of an idea and vision.

In a community-based website dead accounts are useless. We could go mass invite and probably get a good response, however in the end it would not do us any good. We need to build a structure, and find those who are enthusiastic in gaming, as are we here. There are several hundred millions gamers world-wide, let us find them!

Regards,

Domen

@Daktary

"Good Artists Borrow, Great Artists Steal."  Smile

There are flaws and bugs, but those are minor issues as you have said, what is important is the community. If you have that no bugs can disturb the progress as they are just a matter of time to  be fixed.

I guess most of the users around here are happy to be part of this new movement in the gaming scene, and so do I.

Of course the site is fairly new and has some flaws every here and then, but I don't think that's something that won't be fixed in time. What's important is the community because after all that's the core of such sites, and as far as I can see we have great poeple who write excellent materials that really makes you feel proud of being a gamer.

On the other hand, people who are not as gaming enclined as us are less likely to join or even pass on the word, as I would find out after posting an advertisment for the site un our group's home page(and we're an IT section after all). Although I know this isn't very sporting, I guess having to "steal" other communities' members would be the best choice Laughing.

To answer your question and because others have already said everything: Yes!

A great content team that I'm proud to be part and the admins are doing beyond the call of duty in order to improve the site.

I like the way you talk. You must have something else in your mind. Which is obviously good for NoobFeed Smile

This is exactly what we need for NoobFeed. I'm happy to be part of it.

I agree, the speed of the forums isn't good at all, however these are minor things in terms of the ability of them to be changed, or sped up.

And as the website is new to the gaming industry, wheres other-such portals have existed for many years already, it is quite considerable that it lacks content, however it has a lot already, and will surely improve itself through time, adding features and content one by one.

@Tanya I am just rambling about. Tongue out

I agree with you Domen. You speak the words of my heart. This site is new and still has a lot to add in it. I firmly believes that little more improvement will make a major difference. Yoweeh has given a good point. Many of our members have left because of the speed. I know that Ron and his team are working on improving the speed and they have promised us a 40% faster site. If this brings half of the active members back who have left in earlier, NoobFeed will start to look a lot livelier site.

Your last two blogs are giving me an impression that you are going to do something good for this community Laughing

This website is far from polished, and it will take at least another year of work to incorporate all of the features (unions, video support, etc).  Once everything is in place, recruiting active members will be a lot easier than it is now.

It will take some time for the site to get into the level enough to get into the business. Currently NF has some flaws, especially the slow forum which the management is solving the issue soon. If any incomplete site is marketed, problems may arise and new users may not like it when they join. NF needs to make the users like the site at an instant. Let NF have some time and when it is the right time to market, the community can do the marketing for them aggressively.

but to get users to stay, the site needs more quality. I signed up and left because there wasn't to much to do and the SPEED. Once the site gets it's speed up to something reasonable, I'd happily suggest the site to friends. Smile
