How it all got started...

By serbsta, Posted 30 Dec 2008

It’s nice and sunny outside, the birds are chirping, water-bombs are flying; meanwhile, deep in my humble confines I sit and try to contain my anger while playing Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne. I’m tempted to throw my can of Coke at the screen as my team is bubble-wrapped with ‘noobs’, in the true sense of the term, except for Craig who seems to have given his Hero some online crack as he sweeps past the other teams on-rushing swarm of grunts and skeletal warriors. A strange mood begins to develop in a large team where only 2 players have the slightest as to what they’re doing; the mood begins to grow more hostile as your team mates start to feed their weak footmen to the archers on the other side. And so the conversation develops in the team chat panel; in front of all the other noobs:

Craig: I’m so f*cking pissed man… Grey is feeding his low-tech foots to Blue!
Me: Why do we even bother with this game anymore, it’s become an online feeding ground for noobs, seriously, what the f*ck.
Noob teammate: I’m not a noob, I’m just trying to concentrate on my hero.
Craig: Dude, you are noob, it can be proved! You have no idea when it comes to gaming!
Noob teammate: Prove I’m a noob?! lol.
Me: Craig, I’ve just got a genius idea!
*noob teammate sends rest of his units to the feeding ground*
Craig: F*ck yeah! let’s do it!

A sudden light flashed in front of my eyes and a vision came and blanketed my surroundings. I closed the game, panting ferociously at the vision I just saw, an online utopia for gamers of all kinds. And NoobFeed was born; 1 year in development where it was first envisioned it begins to see light; the true-gamers online home for video game news, forums, personal blogs and much, much more.

The time has come for freedom of speech from all gamers, in one place; where noob’s and pro’s from all genres and platforms unite under one name to crush the tyranny of corporate gaming news and bring it to you in its raw form. Noobfeed is set and waiting for your hand to play a part in its future! Let’s create the place where this dream can be lived! Join now and spread your gaming knowledge!

  • There's a big difference between a n00b and a newb though, I hope msot gamers here will recognise that. N00bs are naggers that act like they know what they are doing and deny being new, generally. A newb is just someone who is generally new and would like help, advice, or directions wherever it can be provided. We should all strive to be newbs.

  • Dude, I wish every site had such a compelling story behind it.

  • I am literally starving for an ubiased, uninfluenced game review resource. Ever since that bullshit with gamespot firing their reviewer for posting his honest review of Able and Kane i have been pissed at the pathetic cowering and high scores that review sites are putting out for mediocre games. I hope you guys review honestly and aren't afraid to give a crap game a 3/10 that every other site is giving a 7 or 8.

  • I'd like to think that I come across as more of a newb than a n00b when I play a game online for the first time... *Here's Hoping* lol Wink
