Nooby World is such a great mystery place: A Nooby perspective  Blog by Koshai,  Category: Opinion

Usually Facebook has been my regular medium of keeping on track with so many friends scattered all over. It’s been going on for at least 4 years of my productive life. It is something that gives me some mental satisfaction that I don’t actually feel alone, provided I live alone in New Jersey away from my friends and family. In my point of view if there are more social interactions, the more fun I get. I have been to may forums. Stayed there but also left, because my friends left. Now after sometime off my virtual isolation (forum less and except Facebook), I got into a little site called NoobFeed. Although I got here because my friends are in this little virtual world, still somehow this site managed to increase my productivity. I don’t know why. It gives me a psychological motivation. So I guess I am ending up posting so many long blog posts every alternate day. So let’s see why I joined NoobFeed. It’s a place for gamers and I am a gamer: Check. It’s a social networking hub: Check. It’s an informative site: Check. These are actually present in some other sites too, but why this site. My mind is spinning right now.

Maybe it’s the community itself. Maybe there is a thing that is driving us to stay here. Maybe NoobFeed has a secret weapon of mass attraction. I haven’t been to Gamespot much but I usually hang around in Gametrailers mainly because I liked watching videos. Now I occasionally go there. Even still I was not in forum that much. I wasn’t in forums boards that much anyway. Same case goes to NoobFeed, but surprisingly, my post count in NoobFeed is relatively high then most of the forum sites I have been. Here is an interesting thing. No matter how many forums I switched (quite a few though), I never had friends in those forums hooked up together in Facebook. In NoobFeed its just an opposite case. These friends from NoobFeed are also friends with me in Facebook and we all share Nooby publicity too (Hint: Those who want Publicity emblem, you should try to put more NoobFeed posts in your Facebook profile and I got this very easily). Some of them are in my MSN Messenger and we usually talk It is also surprising to see that our interaction is hell lot. What is happening here?

Let me think for a while. Maybe there is a reason that Noobies here are too awesome to be friends. Maybe we all work together. Work!!! Oh wait!! NoobFeed actually made the emblem system even more effective then even Gamespot emblem system failed to do so. If the emblem system is effective, then working system is effective, and what you work in NoobFeed increases interactivity between Noobies and in the process you make friend. Yes that is a great analysis. I actually failed to do the same thing in Gamespot. I had an account there for 6 years. I don’t remember when I logged in last time. When I joined NoobFeed, I was pretty inactive for some time, but it was surprising to see people adding me. I didn’t see the same thing in either Gamespot or Gametrailers. Now when any user joins NoobFeed, I add them first. Our mental psychology is changing. How this is possible. Is the color scheme being funky itself? I don’t know. Is the forum being more interesting with more interesting threads? Could be, but there are other forum sites too. Is it because of the creativity that each Nooby possess and definitely love to share? Could be! Is it because of Sexy Wars thread where people keep on drooling? Could be! Is it because NoobFeed has strict rules of not harassing anyone or not offending anyone? Maybe! Or is it because the users, staffs, writers is contributing so much that people love to support it? Could be one of the reasons too? I rarely saw any site offering Nooby Gaming Nights. Great initiative! Btw when is the 360 and PC version coming up? Or when is the Smash Bros. Brawl night on Wii coming up? The last Domen’s blog and the innovation and ideas thread can be definite evidences why everyone loves to be together and wants to be part of it to make this Nooby World a great new place to hang out.

So why I am here? I am here to make friends. I am here as a gamer, just like other gamers and we share each other thoughts. I am here to make people enjoy all the time. I am here to share some personal opinions of everything and people listens gladly. As a regular blogger, I am here encouraging people write a lot. I am here to encourage people gain skills. I am here to hang out and maintain a regular schedule to be with friends. I am here as a means of promoting one world, one complete united civilization, which can be possible when people share the same thoughts and in this case gaming.

Nice blog Koshai, I enjoyed it greatly.

It is true that NF has a unique and mysterious way of attracting and keeping close to itself some very interesting and friendly games from all 'rounds of the Globe and gaming experience. Maybe these unballanced experience is just what's keeping us together as everyone has something to tell and at the same time interested in learning something new from the others.

Ow, and it just struck me now. I know one of the motives that the community is still at peace : we don't have those disruptive 13 yo kids who like to leave a trail of anarchy and anger wherever they go. And I mean those really annoying ones that get on everyone's nerves, from the typicl troll to the regular user to the moderator and the admins Tongue out

NoobFeed is my virtual home and you guys are my family members. That's all I will say.

And, I agree that the emblem system here is fun.

Nice blog. Something is wrong. Everyone is posting HUGE HUGE blogs.

@FetusZero : Is this one of your many evil plans ;( God save us all. *Nuff reading for today. I'm hitting the forum*

I have no reason to be here. None love anime except me, my request for an admin board got denied, my only friend doesn't talk to me and I'm not a gamer like everyone else. But I still like this site. Some here floats that none other site has. I don't know what it that. But I like whatever it is.

The NoobFeed community is still rather small, but that doesn't take anything of its success so far. There are still work to be done, yes, but that comes with time. Sure, this is a gaming site, and content is important. Quality is here and we have some experienced gamers to share their opinions, and to help growing the site in terms of forum and user content.

@Tanya - Oh I know. I just figure it's best that we identify the problem so we can work toward fixing it as we grow. Besides, someone's gotta be the critical one, right? So it might as well be me. Just know that I do this all in good faith. My criticisms may be harsh, but I do so because I care. Not a great way to show it, I know, but, well...as I said, someone's gotta do it.

As for the blog itself, I'm not much of a contributor to the community -- my focus is mainly on site content -- so I can't really say much on the matter. That said, I must say that I admire your guys' tenacity regarding the site's well being. It's one thing to get a nice, civilized community together, but it's another thing to get one that actually cares about what the site does. So bravo on that part.

Nice thoughts Koshai. Yes, there is something in here that draws me towards the community. I’m not much a gamer to be honest but I do enjoy spending time around gamers, since I’ve always noticed gamers don’t try or pretend to be a playboy type. I don’t remember any offensive email or message or even a post from anyone here, where as I randomly receive offensive emails in other social networks. Gamers are polite and intelligent.

c_rake has pointed out a lot of problems in Domen’s last blog and I don’t deny with him. But one thing he always forgets to consider that this site itself is a noob. Expecting a site to be perfect while it’s still under development is not the best of ideas. Anyway, there will be critics and there will be failures, but doesn’t mean we can’t success in future. Having our confidence and keeping contributing will bring us the fame we need. I firmly believe it’s just a matter of time now.

@FetusZero : I vote on that evil thing. He did the same to me too Tongue out

We're here to share thoughts and bring our own little style to the other side. We all write differently about different things and we all act differently.

Quite honestly, I'm attracted by NoobFeed yet I can't pinpoint the exact reason. I'm still here though, have been for a while, still writing blogs when I get the chance to and aren't too busy, trying to keep track of others and what not. NoobFeed definitely has something keeping people on the site and I would guess that the reasons are different for everyone.

I jumped in here without any friends on the site to begin with other than Ron. He had me convinced to sign up and since it is Ron, well I did it and posted a blog. Really knew no one other than him, then found out some people from previous websites were here too, and to top it off a bunch of people got around and that's how it all started. That evil Ron.. lol, just kidding of course ;p
