Seven years. That's how much time the fans of the Golden Sun franchise have been waiting for a new game. but they worry no more, as Golden Sun: Dark Dawn will be on stores on November 29, 2010.

The series started in 2002 on the GameBoy Advance, and is considered one of the best RPGs for the system, if not one of the best RPG series of all time. what makes it so magical?

combine gorgeous graphics, amazing soundtrack, engaging story and characters, clever puzzles and strategic combat and you have Golden Sun. Throughout the game, your characters will learn different Psyenergy (the game's magic), which can be used both in combat to defeat enemies and on the field to solve the most varied puzzles. You'll also come across Djinni, elemental spirits with special powers. Players can use them for special attacks, keep them for a stronger class (and stronger Psyenergy) or use them on summons. This cycle is what makes the combat so much deeper than it looks at first. different djinn combinations on different characters generate different classes.

The story of Dark Dawn is set 30 years after the original games, but it shouldn't be hard for newcomers to understand, as you take control of the descendants of the original heroes. 30 years after unleashing the golden sun, strange Psyenergy vortices appears across the continent, sucking the life force of the people. It is up to you to find out the cause and fix the problem.

So excited for this. Might pick it up if I can get through my DS backlog. Golden Sun; I think it's the only series on the GBA that truly made my jaw drop at the amazing prowess of the developers.

glad to see i'm not the only fan around Tongue out

though i consider it more than "just" the best RPG on arguably the best system for RPGs. i consider it one of the best RPGs ever, and my personal favorite (yay for beating the same game 4 times)

I don't consider it the best. The learning curve was way too hard for that. I don't think I finished either game because of it. Fun while it lasted though.

At least to you doesn't necessarily apply to the general concencus that the game is hard as balls.

really? you're the first person i heard saying that. i mean, there is an occasional need to grind, but most of the time combat strategy (choosing when to summon, when to use djinni and when to rely on Psyenergy) is enough for most bosses.

Hope you enjoy but I won't be playing this one, RPG's are a no no to me in general, especially ones with magic battles in it, I just don't care for the whole magic thing, grinding levels and other traditional RPG gameplay. I'll waste my life on hours of gaming with other things. Tongue out
