My Game Crazy went out of buisness around the time that 6th generation consoles were still king, I don't believe any of the 7th generation consoles were out yet. I have the funniest story about that place. But its kinda anti samitic. I don't have any problems with the jewish faith, but when GC was big, it was also big to say "thats jewish"

But what happened to me, I was wanting to buy MGS for the playstation, but the second disc was missing. And when the man handed me the game I checked the case. I opened it on the spot and noticed disc 2 was missing. So I said,

"hey disc 2 is missing"

and the guy said

"is it?"

and I said

"yeah, thats jewish"

Then the guy said

"Hi im Rob, Im Jewsih"

I just looked at him blankly and walked away embarrased.

Haha, hopefully he wasn't actually Jewish, did you ever actually get the 2nd disc for the game?

What happend to my PS3 is one night our power went out, and apparently I didn't have power surge plugs, so my PS3's power suppply was fried.  So for about 3 months I had to sit at my PS3 anywhere from 5-30 minutes, pressing the power button over and over getting the blue and green light, and then the yellow light and flashing red light.  Eventually the PS3 would work, but it wasted a lot of time.  This continued for a while, then the day I was about to go out to buy a new power supply I start up my PS3 and it works like a charm.  I guess the power supply repaired itself.  So the moral of the story is, if you get the YLoD don't initially contact Sony... first check out the light pattern and see if you can fix it yourself or if its just temporary.  I could have fixed it by spending $30 dollars on a power supply, but if I sent it back to Sony they would have charged $100-$200 dollars.

I believe the YLOD sequence is the same wether the power supply is bad, or the heat sync on the chips have gone bad, but I may be mistaken. But if the heat sync has gone bad it is very bad to attempt to run it, it damages the chips.

I know for a fact it wasn't the heat sync.  My house's power went out and my TV's power supply got fried as well. It was only the power supply.

@randall - Funny visual at you standing outside the door haha.

@Moroes - I have mine plugged into a surge protector so hopefully that doesn't happen to me. I got the YLOD because I had it in an enclosed area without a lot of air flow, I have no idea what I was thinking, I was just too excited about getting one to think about that I guess. Tongue out

My ps3 is pluged into a gnarly old extenion cord, with the third prong ripped out of the power cord so it can be pluged into non-3 pronged outlets. Probably not a good idea. My PS3 would be toast if lightning hit my house.

Yeah, that's just begging for disaster haha, they make adapters for surge protectors that are pretty cheap to fit in the older 2 prong outlets, it'd be cheaper than replacing the whole PS3 by a lot. Smile
