Noobfeed Terms of Use

Upon joining this website (NoobFeed) and becoming part of our community you agree to the following Terms of Use. If at any time these are not upheld we reserve the right to remove your profile and all things therein without prior notice. These rules may be changed at any time and referring to this page at regular intervals is advised. In a circumstance where major changes are made to the core rules of this site you will be notified accordingly.

We also reserve the right to remove any other content from the website and all things related without prior notice.

Posting Rules

Each of the rules stated in this section not only apply for our community forums but also your profile, comments section and any other area where you may add text, pictures or other forms of data to the site. In addition to this you must also read the rules of any particular section that has its own set of rules in place, the community forums for example may have their own ‘stickies’ stating what is and what is not allowed.

These means if it's on Noobfeed, all these rules apply. It's always best to read all the stickied threads BEFORE posting on a board since they may have rules specific for there that aren't in the Terms of Use but still must be followed as long as you are in that board.

You must not use inappropriate language; this includes referencing, hinting at, linking, abbreviating or anything else that may cause offense to others. We allow certain swear words, but they must be kept within reason. Explicit mentions of sex, drugs and violence are strictly forbidden. If you feel the use of a certain word or phrase is needed then blocking out all potentially offensive parts with *’s essential.

Example using the word park:

Properly Censored: ****

Censor Failed: *ark, p*rk, p**k etc.

Also, even if the word is properly censored if it is directed at another user in an offensive way it is still subject to Moderation. You are also responsible for all links so make sure you know what is there before linking something, if you are unsure then don't link it. If you really want to link to somewhere but still aren't sure feel free to make a thread below asking a Moderator to check it out for you or PM a Moderator directly asking them to approve the link before you use it to avoid a needless Moderation.

The abuse of any other member of this website will not be tolerated in absolutely any form. This includes, but is not limited to, posting pictures and comments about gender, race, religion, sexual orientation or disability. This also includes baiting other users. It is also worth noting that even insulting another user with blanked out words or in a foreign language is not allowed.

Posting things of an illegal nature is also not allowed. The most common form of this is providing links for downloadable content, but there are many more forms. You’re solely responsible for knowing what is and is not legal and taking it upon yourself as an individual not to bring these to our community.

You must stay on-topic within the section you are posting. So if you wish to post in the comments section of a certain news story make sure you’re commenting about that game in question or something directly related to the story in question. If you are posting on a forum that is intended for the discussion of a specific thing (eg. PlayStation 3) make sure that the discussion centers around that and other things directly related to it.

Posting anything about illegal drugs is not allowed.

Gambling on this website is not allowed.

You must not post pornographic content whether that is in written or photographic forms. Again, you must also not provide links to inappropriate websites of this nature either.

You must use English only, foreign languages are not allowed on this website in any form.

Plot spoilers are strictly prohibited. If you want to discuss something that you feel may spoil something for another user (eg. the ending of a game) you need to state clearly that you are about to discuss such a thing beforehand.

Disruptive posting is not allowed. Examples of this are: posting in just capital letters, leaving huge gaps in your posts, posting huge pictures that are too big for the page, posting the same thing multiple times and other such things.

Note: Having a portion of your post in caps is fine, just make sure to include a portion of your post not in all caps.

Good Example: "Moroes is THE MAN! How did you get so AWESOME?"

Bad Example: "MOROES IS THE MAN! HOW DID YOU GET SO AWESOME?"

Excessive use of punctuation is also considered Disruptive Posting so please avoid adding unneeded !'s, ?'s, .'s or anything else in your post. 2 or 3 in a row is more than enough, we don't need to see 64 of them at the end of your post.

Advertising is not allowed either. If you want to buy or sell something there are many websites that provide that service, NoobFeed is not one of them. You may provide links to personal websites, but they must not have sections within them where profit can be made.

Other Bits

Your account is there for your personal use only. This may not be shared with others in any way, shape or form. This includes but is not limited to the use of the NoobFeed logo, slogans and anything else directly related to the company outside of this website.

You must sign up with a valid e-mail address when registering for the site. You may also be required to follow any further confirmation procedures upon registering.

We reserve the right to contact you via this email at any time regarding our website, unless we provide the option of not receiving certain emails and you accept.

The protection of your password lies solely with you. If at any point somebody discovers your password and logs into your account then the account in question and any further accounts that you create will be removed. It is advised that you keep your password secret and safe upon registering and also make it hard to guess. It is also worth noting that logging into another users account is not tolerated and will also result in a direct termination of your account. It is also against the Terms of Use to attempt to imitate another user’s account for any reason whatsoever.

We reserve the right to contact your ISP regarding any inappropriate activities by you or anyone else in control of your account whilst on this website.

Rule Section: Part 2

1. No more than 5 quotes in a post.

This is considered Disruptive Posting and will be Moderated. Having to scroll through excessive quote "chains" or "trees" is disruptive for other users trying to navigate through the thread. If you don't know how to edit quotes down simply use the @user feature instead.

2. Posting in locked topics.

If a topic is locked and you post in it (especially threads over 1,000 posts to avoid glitching the forums) you will be warned the first time and get an increased point loss for each offense after. If a topic is locked you can tell by several different ways. The first way is before even entering the topic, to the left of the topic name you will see one of these 2 icons:

Locked Sticky Topic:

Locked Topic:

If you fail to notice either of those icons and you have already entered the topic then it is still very easy to tell that the thread is locked. Directly under a user's post where you normally see , , and you will only see . Or if you scroll down to the bottom of the page you won't see the Quick Reply box if the topic is locked. If the topic is locked you shouldn't be able to use this button anymore to reply either, but also never use this feature to post in locked topics:

3. Bad Tagging

Spamming duplicate tags, using inappropriate tags, or any other tagging practices that result in breaking the Tag Cloud will be removed. The first time a user will be warned, each offense after this warning will result in increasing point losses depending on the tags in question. For more information on how to tag properly please see the Welcome Newbies Guide or this Blog covering how to Tag properly to avoid bad tagging habits. If you wouldn't use it to search for what you are tagging then please, don't use it as a Tag. Thank you!
