When you start a game, what difficulty do you usually choose? (If you have a choice)

 

I personally would play on the easiest difficulty on my first playthrough, because i just want to have fun and experience the story. And after beating the game, i might bump the difficulty up and challenge myself. But mostly, i would play on the Easy difficulty. (I hate getting fustrated in insanely hard difficulties, because i don't think it's worth it, that's my take on this)

usually normal or maybe easy, because of the habit i had of beating the same game multiple times. if i start on the easier difficulty, playing again on a new difficulty would be more interesting.

I'm pretty much a lot like you Echo. I normally play on the easiest difficulty for the first play through because I game more to relax and just plain enjoy the game and not get annoyed, frustrated or discouraged in the game. After beating it on the easiest difficulty I will sometimes replay it on a higher difficulty, especially if I am in a trophy collecting mood, but that is rare. I'm more in it for enjoying the story of the game and relaxing with the game play. I have to be in the mood to turn things up and challenge myself. I enjoy gaming a lot more this way.

I'm exactly the same Echo. I play games for fun, not to be stressed out, so I usually just go for normal. I used to go for easy, but bumped it up now because I want at least a little challenge. Unless it's a genre I'm unfamiliar with, then I'll usually just do easy. If I really liked the game sometimes I'll go back and play on a harder setting, but for the most part just keep it simple.

Usually, I also pick the easiest difficulty settings, but sometimes I have to pick a harder difficulty because the game is too easy and/or is too short. It was like that in Modern Warfare 2, I had to stop beating missions because I didn't wanted to end the single player campaing that fast.

 

Also, if a certain thing is involded, I'll have to play on Elite and get ready for a challenge.

yeah true i finished it in one night the first night i brought it and still made my bed time lol

on my first runthrough of a game I usually play on Normal difficulty, then if I really like the game sometimes Ill do another playthrough on hard.

I play with the difficultly level above normal. When I really like any game, I play with the highest difficulty level.

I normally do one choice tougher than normal. Mostly that is hard. It gets me more trophies and more challenge while playing. I won't say I'm a very good player or something but normal is a bit to easy for me as well mostly.
