Nicolas Mahut (France) and  John Isner (U.S.A.) are playing for almost 10 hours - not consecutive - for the right to contest the second round of Wimbledon. An anthology duel whose outcome should only be known this Thursday.

The meeting began on Tuesday but was suspended for lack of natural light and will continue this Wednesday. The fifth set was alreay in action(4-6, 6-3, 7-6, 6-7). A part that is not yet decided, since, after a total of 9:54 a.m. game, and Isner Mahut still tied at 59 games.

At 21h08, and despite repeated requests from the public 'we want more / want more' the two players agreed to defer the decision of the meeting - 40-40 with the marker - for Thursday.

The winner of the longest match in history must then be known tomorrow. Gone now is the previous record, which belonged to Arnaud Clement and Fabrice Santoro, who staged a marathon of 6:33hours. in the 2004 edition of the tournament at Roland Garros - only the duration of which was played today, more than seven hours, enough to hit the record.

It must be terrible to play for so long and end up losing.
