With the new 3.40 firmware upgrade which launched today Playstation Plus subscription is available.

Playstation Plus: While the current level of PSN service and online multiplayer will remain free, the recently announced PlayStation Plus subscription promises users free games, early demos, beta invites, discounts, free themes, and avatars. The premium service will cost US $50 (EU €50) annually, or US $18 (EU €15) for a three-month trial subscription. The first month's offerings include a free copy of the downloadable racer Wipeout HD, two PSP mini games, and a handful of premium avatars.

I just took a look and I might just try it. Seems like there will be long demo's in the future. Now there's an inFamous demo which enables the player to play the game for 1 hour. Also Playstation Plus members can download WipeOut Pure for free and some other mini games. Furthermore there were some free themes and avatars.

What are your thoughts on Playstation Plus?

I just No, because I don't like what it offers enough to use it enough to justify spending that much money a year on it, although it really isn't that much, but still more money than I'd actually use it for.

I personally dont think its worth the money, then again I feel the samme way about GOld but I still pay for that (probably because its a lot more "neccesary" then PSN+) I may end up getting it if they add cross game chat in at a later date.

Well I have pretty much all the games they're offering for free so I'm still on the fence about it but it's whatever...

I thought about it, but I really don't know if they'll keep offering games that I actually care about. Does anyone know what the July schedule is?

How frequently is Plus updated? Every week just like the rest of the store or monthly? The offer on the EU store is still the same.

In the US they have new deals each week.  Nothing too huge though...most of it's been free themes and discounted DLC.

Not really my sort of thing, doesn't really offer me anything I'd particulary want.
