We now, for a little while, have had access to 3D and Multi-Display (2 monitors and up) gaming, though we can also combine both of them for 3D Multi-Display gaming, although this requires a most powerful rig to run it at full resolution, knowing that each of them on their own almost cuts the FPS in a game by half.

Multi-Display:
eyefinity

3D:
3dvision

Personally, while 3D looks great and seems to have become a new path for video gaming, I still don't like it all that much. It easily gets tiring on the eyes for me. I'm all up for Multi-Display gaming though, with a minimum of 3 monitors. While rather expensive, I feel it adds an immersion feeling without the eye-sore part that plagues 3D.

Right now I only have two monitors (one 23" and one 24", both 1920x1080), but my future plans is to eventually gather up 2 other 23" monitors with the same resolution to experience Eyefinity whenever I feel like it. The only reason I don't do it with 2 monitors is because the screen's borders gives me a nice separation right in the middle of the game screen, but with 3 monitors they aren't so bothersome.

I'm not into the whole 3D thing and although a multi-display setup might be more expensive it is also useful for use outside of gaming and movies.

Multi-Display looks cool but I'd prefer 3D more.

True, it is quite useful, especially if you're the kind of person to have tons of windows opened at the same time. Comes in useful when I edit videos or images, etc.

Also when you play a game you can have the game in one screen and a walkthough on the other screen since some games get stuck with excessive Alt-Tabbing.

Multi-Display can be handy when you are playing on Lan. Perhaps a way to keep an eye on what you partner or opponent doing.

Those glasses get annoying if you're already wearing spectacles.

They aren't so bad even when already wearing glasses, but I couldn't say for long term wearing as I only tried 3D at a demo stand in a store lol.
