the fact that it has to check all comments new for you in 8 different blogs (3 yours + 5 from friends) every time you click you profile definitely makes it longer to load. maybe not much, but it's definitely more to look at.

Well can't have the feature exactly like in forums? We have this feature there & still forum is fast enough! A forum page updates 20/30 threads at a time. Here it's only 8.

This system will eventually be implemented for the entire site. It's a pretty obvious and necessary upgrade.
We have this feature already for Forum posts. So why not for blogs & others?
By the way can we have any sign or specific icon placed over the left side of each section when a new thread is posted?
The forums need a MAJOR overhaul in terms of showing new posts, etc, etc. It's most definately on the agenda.

I agree Forums need a lot of work.
But this is already a cool feature as well. I'm all forit.
