Horizon Forbidden West is one of the biggest games coming this 2022. With titles like Dying Light 2 and Elden Ring releasing in the same month. Today Sony revealed new information regarding the machines of the title, with these deadly monsters having more specific details including gameplay elements such as tracking resources.
Guerilla Games wanted to enhance the environments of Horizon Forbidden West but in doing so had to ensure each machine had a function in this world. Since each machine serves as caretakers of this world they had to have a function. To do this the developers study various animals and what purpose they served in the environment. Creating authentic examples of roaming, prey, predator, and incorporating new elements to this distinct biome.
This also means Aloy will get some new actions. She can overcharge machines to become more aggressive for combat purposes, defensive, or even have them lead Aloy to resources. Making more than just combat or riding options.
