EA and Sony Offering Battlefield 4 for free to PlayStation Plus Members on PS3

After a major patch EA and Sony are offering Battlefield 4 for free for the entire week exclusively for PS Plus Members on PS3

EA and Sony are offering PlayStation Plus subscribers a chance to play Battlefield 4 for free on PS3 for the entire week. This download will include the entire game, both multiplayer and single-player, for gamers to enjoy.

This announcement follows the major Fall update, which brings a series of changes to the popular military shooter. Battlefield 4 was criticized at launch for its bugs and issues that destabilized the game for most players and making it unplayable for some. The latest update brings new weapon tweaks and bug fixes that include improved "netcode" to reduce the amount of disputed kills.

The introduction of Teamplay Initiative and avatar movements that resemble Battlefield 3 are the biggest new addition. Teamplay Initative will encourage players to play as a team as oppose to being a lone wolf looking to increase their kill count by offering new ways to increase your score.

Despite a difficult launch DICE has continued to support the game with not only patches but new content. The fifth and final expansion for Battlefield 4, Final Stand, is expected to launch before the end of the year with premium members getting it two weeks earlier. The next installment in the Battlefield series, Battlefield Hardline, is set to release in early 2015 after being delayed for more development time. Its developer, Visceral Games, stated recently that they're confident that the game will launch smoothly.
