To test the game's rumored multiplayer mode TheGalacticCactus teamed up with another player to locate one another. Despite their best efforts neither player could see one another.
Back in 2014 Sean Murray teased the possibility that multiplayer would be featureed in the final game but you can see from the tweet above that this feature was cut. Despite this No Man's Sky is still a massive game that takes large risks in exploration and discovery. Focusing on the player's individual journey into unknown territory in search of unique life on various planets.
No Man's Sky is now available on PS4 and will launch on PC August 12th.
Personal take: After playing No Man's Sky for close to 10 hours the idea of seeing another player once in a while would've greatly enchanced the experience. Maybe something like what That Game Company did with Journey, allowing players to jump in and out.
