We know that EA plans to unveil Battlefield 5 at this year's E3. However, rumors have surfaced that it'll come with a battle royale mode.
According to Venture Beat, the mode is currently being prototyped to compete with the surge of popularity with the genre started by PlayerUnknown's Battleground and skyrocketed by Fortnite. It's unclear how the mode will operate, but considering its Battlefield will most likely remain loyal to the class-based system that the franchise is known for and not the free-to-play system used by Epic Games.
If this happens to be true we'll hear more at this year's E3.
Battlefield 5 is now in development.
