Warhammer: Vermintide 2 Receives Massive 1.0.8 Patch Focusing On Fixes

The 20 GB 1.0.8 patch also contains major optimizations to the game engine.

The 1.0.8 patch for Warhammer: Vermintide 2 went live today and it's almost 20 GBs worth of data to download. That's because it happens to be the largest patch in terms of fixes that the game's had so far. Among the most notable ones are "literally hundreds of changes to the game's levels" which should make Ratling Gunners less likely to fire through buildings, players to get stuck and enemy patrols to spawn in adventurers' faces. Major optimizations to the game engine are also on the list, with GPU memory consumption being reduced by up 500 MB, depending on settings.

Although the patch focused on fixes, other areas haven't been neglected. Heroes received new voice lines, while banter and curses will occur less often. A handful of weapons have received balance changes, while Huntsman Kruber's Thrill Of The Hunt Skill now grants reduced reload speed upon headshot, but lasts longer. You can have a look at the full patch notes to see the (many) changes. Just make sure you start downloading the patch before reading.

If you haven't already, give our Warhammer: Vermintide 2 review a read.
