Composer Austin Wintory, best known for his work on Thatgamecompany’s Journey, has received a nomination in this year’s Grammy Awards for his work on the game’s soundtrack.
Wintory made the announcement via Twitter, to which to he expressed his disbelief of the nomination in the Best Score Sountrack For Visual Media category, alongside such company as John Williams for The Adventures of Tin Tin – The Secret of the Unicorn, Ludovic Bource for The Artist, Hans Zimmer for The Dark Knight Rises, Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross for The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, and Howard Shore for Hugo.

This isn’t the first time a video game has won a Grammy. In 2011, Cviliazation 4 composer Christopher Tin took home an award for the opening song for the game, “"Baba Yetu." Wintory marks the second time a game has been included in the proceedings.
The 55th Grammy Awards will air on February 10, 2013.
