New Pokémon Number 000 Released!  News by Daavpuke

Pokémon number 001, Bulbasaur of TV fame has recently been put down a peg. Pokémon Company announced a new “Phantom” legendary Pokémon to debut in Pokémon Black & White as number 000.

Pokémon #000 Victini

Victini, as the new creature is called, will probably be somewhat of a big deal, as the number 000 has never been used before. Details were given out on this week’s Pokémon Sunday before Pokémon Company officially released it today.

Japanese people will only be able to acquire Victini’s cute eared self by obtaining a special “Liberty Ticket” item. This item will be dispensed at Nintendo Zone and DS Station kiosks from launch day, 18 September, to 18 October. It is advised to hold on to the item you receive at the beginning, as you’ll only be able to obtain Pokémon 000 later on.

I always thought they'd do something with 000 but didn't expect it to take this long. It will be intriguing to see what sort of movesets and stats it ends up with compared to other legendaries (i assume it to be).

There are too many Pokemon these days. And what exactly do you mean by Bulbasor was "put down a peg"?

@King: He no longer has the honor to be known as pokemon 1, or the first pokemon.

Ya I heard about this, why the heck did they do this? It better be something very special, the only Pokemon that would make since as #000 would be Dito.

Oh, so he is still in the games? (I haven't followed Pokemon in forever)

I still have love for Pokemon, but most of the titles released now are remakes and I find it hard to get motivated to buy them.

For me, what they need to do is stop adding new critters to the roster, and focus on enhancing each one in a way that makes them more unique than the next.

@King: If he's still a Pokémon, he's still in there.

@fishdalf: I agree I'd rather see a great improvement over a new remake with more Pokémon, although the new version added quite a few things to ye ol' concept. I'd rather see a new RPG altogether though. Perhaps even with lesser Pokémon.

awesome i guess, I never really paid much attention to pokemon position on the dex. I wonder if he'll be 000 on the national dex too though, if so I guess that knocks poor bulbasaur out of the spotlight as the first pokemon around Tongue out
