By canana, Posted 26 Jan 2011

Electronic Arts announced that Dead Space 2 - released January 25, will receive an extra package. Named Severed, the DLC will be released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 users.

The novelty is in fact of an extension of the single player mode. Are two new chapters that bring Gabe Weller and Lexine Murdock - characters of Dead Space: Extraction (Wii and PlayStation Network) - to the universe of Dead Space 2. You should play with Weller and try to defeat the terrible Necromorphs to bring both the guard and Murdock to a safe place.

Severed will be launched in 2011, but has no release day as of yet. The team of developers at EA Games and Visceral do not comment on the price of the DLC. Moreover, nothing has been talked about a package version for PC users.

Alongside the announcement, EA reported that the new copies of Dead Space 2 brings an Online Pass code. The number allows access to the online features of the game. Who does not have such a code has the opportunity to buy one via Xbox Live (800 Microsoft Points) or the PlayStation Network ($US 10).
