The wait is over! After much mystery and facing several postponements in recent times, Microsoft has finally announced the release date for Gears of War 3. Epic Game’s latest title will come to Xbox 360 worldwide on September 20, 2011. The great thing about it is that this was not the only news Microsoft publicized.

Besides making fans around the world mark the day on their calendars, the publisher took the opportunity to talk a little more about the multiplayer modes and new equipment that will debut in the highly anticipated game. Between what is forthcoming, Multiplayer maps such as Trenches, Overpass, Mercy, Thrashball and Checkout were revealed. Regarding new equipment, included are Bayonet Charge, Retro Lancer, Sawed-off Shotgun, OneShot, Incendiary Grenade Launcher and Digger.

Epic Games announced that a special Xbox 360 version of Bulletstorm (Epic Edition) will include early access to the Gears of War 3 multiplayer beta. This special edition also includes bonus content. The Bulletstorm Epic Edition will be available in limited quantities starting on Feb. 22, 2011 for $59.99.
