Modnation Racers: Demo  Preview by Daavpuke

Sony PSP recently launched a pretty large campaign promoting their new kart race game Modnation Racers.

Developer: SCEA San Diego Studios
Publisher: SCEE
Release Date: May 21, 2010
Platform(s): PSP
Genre: Racing, Kart

All Kevin Butler boasts aside, I decided to cave in and check out a downloadable demo. As a special occasion to NoobFeed.com putting me on staff, I decided to work out a Video Preview.

Enjoy watching this exclusive preview and don't forget to comment on your thoughts. All the info regarding the demo will be adressed within.

Great review. The game looks fun too. But I'm a little confused. Why is it under the preview tab?

@Sleven: Because it's the PSN Demo review, not the full game.

I loved the way he jumped and did tricks. The game really looks fun. Holding the combination keys looks difficult. I don't know who did you manage that in your play. lol. I agree with you. Customization feature isn't really necessary for racing games. I personally prefer pre-made tracks and just race on them. But those who hosts contest and want to make life difficult, they surely will love the customization option.

Loved the video.

I love the way you reviewed it. I knew that the customized tracks can't be saved because my colleague was talking about it. He wasted so much time designing a track but no save option after it.

@Tanya: It DOES look fun, but if you have to play it, the controls willfrustrate you just a tad for you to really enjoy it.

@Xiao: Ouch, that's harsh Laughing. I sure wouldn't have liked doing that. But it's a way to let you buy the game for it.

I got it. Perhaps the word preview goes well with a demo. You are the writer though, you know it better Wink Excellent job btw. @-Moroes- would have loved to see this video, since he too makes video previews/reviews but yours is a bit unique.

It's obviously part of the sales strategies. Gamers liked to make customized tracks, would like to buy the full version to save their designed ones. I have nothing against it.

@RON: Indeed. I also speculate this in my review. Still, it's a shame, but it IS a Demo after all.

When I first played Pro evo soccer, I was frustrated with the controls, but after getting used to it, it was more fun. I think same goes for this game. It's all about getting used to the control.

@Tanya: While this is true for PES (I own PES3), I didn't get the same feeling from this game after extensive playing. You'll learn to work your way around it, true. But I don't think it will flow naturally.

Whenever I play a new game, the smoothness of controlling doesn’t come naturally. But like I’ve said, after playing it for few hours or day, our brain memorizes the process. Unlike some games like Star Wars which I can never play comfortably not matter for how long I play it.

In a strange turn of events I should have this game in my possession within the week.
I'll match my reaction to your demo preview and return with thoughts.
