Homefront

The idea behind this game is excellent but it’s a matter of regret that the idea wasn’t executed as rightly as it should’ve been. Both the Korean nations merge together under a great leader and attack America. You take the role of a resistance group solider and fight your way through to defeat the Koreans. The way the game begins, really makes you expect a whole lot of excitement but each chapter you leave behind, your expectation takes the shape of dissatisfaction.

For some unknown reasons, my Xfire wouldn’t detect the game. So no sexy screenshots (though there wasn’t actually any) and no accurate gameplay hours. I predict it wasn’t anything more than 6 hours.

Let’s not waste time in chitchat and get straight towards my usual style.

The Good:

- The story (specially the intro) really gets you into the game right at the beginning.

- Shooting is smooth in this FPS and you get to use mostly the recent age weapons.

- Artworks while the game loads are really awesome. My bad luck that Xfire didn’t detect the game and I couldn’t capture those.

- Dialogs between other main characters are somewhat decent. Though you hardly speak during the whole game.

- Few scenarios require you to use your brain other than just shooting. Then again, there won’t be more than 3 such scenarios.

The Bad:

- Graphics is very average and flat. Character design gives nothing to talk about either.

- Only 4-5 different types gun available in the game and worst part is that you are always low in ammo.

- Most of the time, you get to do everything even when you always have 3-4 team members with you. They hardly kill anyone. And the enemy is always shooting you instead of your team members.

- Jumping is very awkward and most of the time you need to wait for the game to give you a jump/climb execution command.

- AI is as dumb as donkeys. And until you progress or take over their shooting spots, they keep coming forever.

- The game is extremely short and very very static.
