Fifa 2009 vs PES 2009  Category: Games

Every year all football gaming fans go crazy on the two top football games. This year it's no exception and both gamers and football maniacs are going crazy over the two games, Fifa 2009 and Pro Evolution Soccer 2009. In this article, I look at both the games and check out what's good and what's not with my opinion thrown in.

Fifa 2009

This is one game that is widely anticipated by gaming fans and the latest release does not disappoint them. Their policy of getting feedback from the gamers has paid off as they have incorporated several features that were missing last year and they have addressed some downsides as well that were a sore point with the fans last year.

The latest version is much improved than the earlier one and they have paid particular attention to the dynamics of ball physics and the collision system. The ability to specify the camera to switch any angles will sure be a delight. They have also added Be a Pro Seasons Mode, the Adidas Live Season and the 10-on-10 football. These eye catching additions would amaze the most diehard fan.

Pro Evolution Soccer 2009:

PES 2009 PC Cover  Will he save it ?

PES 2009 comes in a neat version that takes us back to the popular PS2 version that won many a gamers heart and purse. Talk about going back to the golden age! But, the flip side is that the graphics leave much to be desired. The game play is smooth and natural and goes with the flow. This is one area which makes PES a good buy.

Where PES 2009 scores is they have managed to get big name licenses like UEFA Champions league license, Manchester United License and Liverpool's License. However, this is where it stops and the other players are little known and may not grab attention.

Conclusion:

In my opinion, there is a clear winner for this year and the honors go to Fifa 2009. With its reworked look and neat interface, Fifa 2009 looks set to dominate the football games part of the gaming industry. While PES 2009 has scored some goals with their licenses of big leagues, they have a long way to go as many unique licenses are still held by Fifa. The saving grace for PES is that the game has a tendency to hook you slowly and it is one for the long haul. If they can get their act together with the use of modern technology, they can sure catch up.

you've written exactly the thoughts i have in my mind. even though PES has been able to grab the attention of all the soccer fans throughout the world, FIFA is still holding the lead with no problem atall. i'm a big time FIFA fan and i've played each and every of its series. And every time i played a new version, i had something new to deal with. whether it's the interface or gameplay experience or new game moods.

PES on the other hand has progressed a lot compared to other soccer games and there are still more to come from this game. I’ll be looking forward to see how these two games do on their upcoming releases.

I've been a fun of PES series for a long time. I got FIFA09 this year just to see what is all about. It's not a bad game, but I finally decided to give it for free to a friend Smile

Fifa 09 is in my opinion better than PES 2009. But this is the first time I've said that, because the other PES games is better than the other Fifa games.

I'm giving PES a few more years to get it's act together. I've stuck with it for almost 8 years now and it has given me more entertainment than any other gaming series in my lifetime. Yes Fifa has the licenses, but personally? I prefer the gameplay of PES still - even after Fifa stole core elements of Konami's franchise.

few more years! i can't believe where FIFA will be on that time! since FIFA 05 the gameplay xp changed significantly and it's getting better every season. so, it won't be easy for PES to complete with FIFA too early. it'll take atleast 4 or 5 more years.

and i don't think any of these two games will ever be able to fill our hunger for better soccer experience. we buy the new version every year and we'll keep buying them. so, no matter how much they improve or not; will always be stuck with were we are now? these two games will keep getting better each year and so will our expectations.
i wish i could play a combined version of these two game.

yes, I agree with you. while PES 2009 is a very good game, FIFA 09 is definitely the best, offering what, in my opinion, is the best football gaming experience till this day. Smile
