Destiny 2: Forsaken launches next week and with it comes a whole bunch of new changes for players to enjoy. As of now patch 2.0 is available to give players a taste of what is to come but significant changes are still on the way. Here are 5 things you should know about Destiny 2: Forsaken.
5. Death of a Hero and New Area
Players will return to the Reef after the Red Legion have been booted from Earth. The Prison of Elders, which houses the most dangerous beings in the system, is having a massive prison break. You've been summoned along with Cayde-6 to eliminate any escaping convicts and return order.
Things don't go as plan with the Barons, high ranking Fallen Commanders, and the Awoken Prince Uldren Sov successfully making it out and Cayde-6 is killed in action. Hence begins the journey to kill the barons and Uldren Sov for executing Cayde-6.
Much of the expansion will take place in the Tangled Shore, a belt of broken asteroids. The goal is to locate the 8 barons, under Uldren Sov's command, and avenge your fallen mentor.
4. The Scorn
You'll encounter former Destiny enemies such as The Fallen, Hive, and The Cabal but also a new type of enemy. Called the Scorn these variants of The Fallen are much more aggressive and will charge the player with incredible aggression.
3. New Multiplayer Mode
Gambit is the new mode launching with Destiny 2: Forsaken. In this mode, 2 teams of 4 fend off waves of enemy forces while gathering motes and depositing them into a Well. The primary goal is to gather enough motes to summon the Prime Evil boss and defeat it. Depositing a large number of motes into the Well at once will provide additional advantages.
5, 10, or 15 motes will summon a blocker that will close off access to the Well and prevent any motes from being deposited until it's killed. 25 to 50 motes will allow players to invade the opposing team's arena with 1 player at a time. That player has 20 seconds to kill as many players as possible and if successful each kill will heal the enemy team's boss. 75 motes will unleash the boss enemy, kill it before the enemy team can kill their own and you'll win.
2. End Game
Once you complete the core campaign players will be able to access the Dreaming City. A raid containing more bosses than any other Destiny raid.
In addition. there will be 3 new strikes, 1 of which is exclusive to PlayStation 4. The strikes difficulty will be measured by the player's power level with a starting point of 300 and scale up from there.
1. New Weapon and Abilities
Destiny 2: Forsaken will provide a new legendary bow option and new subclass options. The bow is a deadly weapon that can one-shot guardians if struck in the head. However, due to the weapon requiring to reload after each shot, you must be accurate with your shots or you'll be left open for attack.
For Warlocks, the Dawnblade subclass will offer the Well of Radiance that heals and increases damage to anyone inside the well. Voidwalkers will access the Novawarp that will allow users to teleport and explode when detonated. Stormcallers can use a beam of high energy that kills anything in its path.
Hunter's walking the Nightstalker path will gain the spectral blade for quick attacks, the Ark Strider subclass can reflect projectiles back using the Whirling Guard, and the Gunslinger can hurl exploding knives.
Titans who invest into the Striker subclass can use the Thundercrash super that launches the avatar through the air like Superman before crashing down. The Sunbreaker gets a giant flaming hammer called the Burning Maul, and the Sentinel can use the Banner Shield.
Destiny 2: Forsaken launches on September 4th for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
