What should you know about Detroit: Become Human

Detroit: Become Human is Sony next big exclusive. Releasing next week this narrative focus title is from the creators of Beyond Two Souls and Heavy Rain Quantic Dream. Players are placed into a futuristic world of 2038 where technology has advanced to the point that people can use androids to aid in everything from caretakers to professional tasks. Here are 5 things you should know about Detroit: Become Human.
5. 3 Playable Characters
Similar to past games created by Quantic Dream players will have control of 3 different characters throughout Detroit: Become Human. This includes a housekeeper android named Kara who develops artificial consciousness, an advanced police model android named Connor, and a revolutionary conscious android named Markus who seeks to free his people from slavery.
Since you have control of each of these characters you get to determine their fate and how they interact with one another. Betray one another, play favorites, or try to keep everyone alive. It's your choice and Detroit: Become Human offers different branching paths based on your actions.
4. Everyone is Expendable
Since the playable characters can die there's no Game Over screen. If any of the 3 playable characters die the story will continue without them. With no certainty to their survival players can alter the story in whatever way they want in this 10-15 hour adventure.
3. Paths Provided
As shown in the demo players won't be blind to the choices available. At the end of missions, players will be presented with a grid showcasing all the alternatives available to them. This will allow players to actively seek out other paths making it easier to explore creative ways to finish segments.
2. Certain Things are Timed
Another detail the demo provided is that specific missions may have an invisible timer. During the hostage negotiation, Connor must investigate the crime scene to construct a detail report of what happened to use in his negotiation. However, not provided is that Connor has a limited amount of time to do so before S.W.A.T. moves in. This will likely be present in future situations in the game as the player will have to act quickly before the game makes the choice for you.
1. Choices Can Be Changed
If you're unhappy with the choices made you can always rewind and make different decisions. While you won't be able to do this mid-game when the dialogue tree appears you can change what happened and replay the segment.
Detroit: Become Human launches on May 25th for PS4.
