Apex Legend Characters Heirloom Guide
Games by SnowWhite on May 26, 2021
Apex Legend is a fast-paced battle royale game launched by Respawn Entertainment in February 2019. The purpose of the game was to dethrone Fortnite. The game is set in the science fiction universe as Titanfall and Titanfall 2. The new season of the game comes out every three months which introduces new characters and a new set of weapons and cosmetic items that allows players to personalize their game avatar.
Heirlooms are a set of super-rare cosmetic items in Apex Legends that are launched in each Collection Event. When the game was initially launched people used to take heirlooms only as myths and weren’t sure if they actually existed or not. But let us tell you, Heirlooms are totally real but they are extremely hard to obtain and only a few lucky players are able to win them. But even if you don’t have them, it's not a big deal as they don’t have anything to do with you winning the game, they will just help you add some style to your character. In this Apex Legend Heirloom guide, we’ll discuss everything you need to know about them. Let’s get started!
What are the Apex Legends Heirlooms?
The Apex Legends Heirlooms are the most exclusive and highly sought-after cosmetic items in the game. They include several unique banner poses and intro quips which are a cool way to show off your skills and achievements while playing the game. The Respawn has hired 8 different actors to do the voice-overs for intro quips. The intro quips are played when your character is being inspected while the kill quips are played when you make game kill.
There is only one set of heirlooms for each character and not every legend in the game has an heirloom set. The heirloom set makes the character different from the others in terms of skills and usability. For example, Octane has a butterfly Knife, Wraith has a knife and Pathfinder has boxing gloves, and so on.
The heirlooms allow you to add that dash of style to your favorite legends and look incredibly fashionable. The Heirlooms are unique per each character and unlike Legend skins, they can be seen clearly in your character’s hand when the weapon is holstered. The new heirlooms are frequently added to the store to give players plenty of choices to pick from. From Pathfinder’s beloved boxing Gloves to Octane’s deadly Butterfly knife, there are a great variety of cosmetics available to help players make their own fine collection of heirlooms.
What are Heirloom Shards?
The Heirloom Shards are the kind of currency that can be used in the heirloom store to purchase the Apex Legend heirloom set of your choice. You need 150 heirloom shreds to craft a single heirloom. When the heirlooms were initially released in the first season of the game, heirloom shards didn’t exist. The only character with an heirloom set was Wraith and the players were guaranteed to get the heirloom set within 500 Apex crates.
A new heirloom set is released in each collection event. The sets can be unlocked by collecting all 24 items of the event’s collection set during the event. If you miss an event, you’ve got to cross your fingers for some heirloom shards. After the collection event is over, the Heirloom set is moved into the heirloom store where you can purchase it by using shards.
How to Get Apex Heirloom Shards?
To obtain apex heirloom shards you have to open some Apex Packs first. The Apex Packs can be acquired from ranking up the battle pass, from leveling up or you can purchase them with Apex Coins, the premium currency of Apex Legends. The Apex packs are quite similar to the PUBS’s crates.
When the players level up between Level-1 to 21, they get one free apex pack. From level-22 to 300, they get one apex pack every two levels. From level 305 to 500 and onwards players obtain one pack every five levels. The contents of each apex pack are random and players don’t know what they might get.
To Purchase Apex packs through battle pass tickets, the player has to participate in the challenges. On finishing a challenge successfully, they get rewarded with highly coveted cosmetic items.
Each Apex Pack has 100 coins each with three random items for players to collect. There’s 1 out of 500 chances of dropping 150 Heirloom Shards in the apex pack. With heirloom shards, you can buy any heirloom set you want from the in-game heirloom store. Once the pack of Heirloom Shards is opened, it is not consumed. Fortunately, if you don’t get a single heirloom after opening 499 Apex crates, the next to create is guaranteed to have an heirloom set inside. You can always use the help of professionals, and raise your level for the fastest relics by turning to apex legends boosters.
Using the Apex Coins in Rotation Shop
The players can use apex coins to buy different items in the featured section of the rotation shop. They can also use the Legend tokens to purchase new items. There are a variety of items available in the shop due to the rotation system and each item is replaced after seven days.
