ARK: Survival Ascended Guide | ALPHA Farming Methods On Ragnarok

ARK: Survival Ascended's Ragnarok map offers an incredible abundance of resources, and with recent updates, farming has become even more efficient, thanks to new mechanics and settings introduced for specific creatures.

We'll go through these changes in this guide and provide teachings for gathering resources at an ALPHA level. It'll also help you get the most out of farming by using the newest game changes and the best ways to set up your creatures, along with the best farming tips, the most up-to-date game features, and the best places to get important resources.

The New Auto-Farm Update

A significant update has added a vital setting for the Ankylosaurus and the Doedicurus. Previously, auto-harvesting was limited, as most creatures would become overloaded after a few hits and could not continue farming.

Now, as long as the Ankylosaurus or Deodicurus is carried by another creature such as an Argentavis or a Karkinos, auto-harvesting will not stop, even if the farming creature is weight-capped.

The Karkinos currently has some bugs with this function, but improvements are expected soon. To utilize this feature, set up your creature as usual, grab it with your Argentavis, and fly around with your Ankylosaurus. As long as the carrier can handle the weight, the farming will continue without interruption.

Harvest Only Settings

The Ankylosaurus and Deodicurus now feature a "Harvest Only" option. When mounted, hold reload and access your creature to toggle this setting. By selecting a specific resource, you can direct your creature to harvest only that resource.

For example, setting your creature to harvest only Metal from nodes will yield increased amounts of Metal, as resources normally ignored are converted into additional Metal.

Rhyniognatha and Resource Transport

The Rhyniognatha is now available for taming in several swamp regions on Ragnarok Ascended. While taming can be challenging, the Rhyniognatha is one of the best creatures for transporting resources.

Search the swamps for these creatures, or use the provided spawn command for convenience.

Aberration Resources on Ragnarok

Three new aberration resources have been added to Ragnarok. To craft saddles for Karkinos, you will need Blue Gems. These can be found in three main areas:

Small amounts of Blue Gems are located at the small waterfall on the eastern snow mountain at coordinates 51.2, 45.4. In this area, you will typically find three to five small nodes.

For larger quantities, explore the cave beneath the frozen lake in the east of the snow mountain. The two entrances to this cave are at 40, 62.6 and 37.6, 58.9. Deep inside, you will find abundant Blue Gems.

There are also a few spots near the entrance to the ice dungeon in the ice cave on the west side of the map. Be cautious, as high-level Bears inhabit this area, making it more dangerous than other locations.

Fungal Wood Farming

Fungal Wood can be found in the swamp on the west side of the map. The most effective method for farming Fungal Wood is to use a raft in the swamp, equipped with a Therizinosaurus, to harvest the trees. Although a Castoroides (Beaver) collects more wood, the Therizinosaurus allows you to farm all the trees efficiently while moving through the swamp on your raft.

Place your Therizinosaurus at the front of the raft and traverse the swamp, loading the wood into your vault for transport back to your base with a Rhyniognatha. The route is straightforward; start at either end of the swamp and farm as you go.

Ensure your raft can navigate the swamp with minimal obstruction from rocks, as these can dislodge your Therizinosaurus.

When farming Fungal Wood, you will also collect Aggeravic Mushrooms and Auric Mushrooms. While not needed in large quantities, gathering them in one trip is convenient.

Organic Polymer – Best Location on Ragnarok

A large cave in the desert contains a massive number of aberration plants, making it the best spot for farming Organic Polymer. This cave is a non-building area, and no creatures spawn inside. The method is to bring a Megalania from Extinction onto Ragnarok, as it can efficiently farm Polymer and remains highly mobile.

This method allows you to reach the slot cap with just a few hits. While other polymer farming methods remain viable, this cave is highly recommended for its efficiency.
