What are the best Nintendo games of 2016?

The Nintendo Switch isn’t here yet but that doesn’t mean Nintendo didn’t come out swinging this year. 2016 marked the release of some great games from the acclaimed video game company, one series in particular sold better than most other triple-a games. Here are the best Nintendo games of 2016!

Kirby: Planet Robobot,NoobFeed,Nintendo,

Kirby, destroyer of Majin Buu, latest title recaptures the whimsical world of Dream Land. Like other games in the franchise the game rarely offers a challenge but the well-designed boss fights, fun gameplay, and great soundtrack made Kirby’s latest adventure a worthwhile journey to behold.

Fire Emblem Fates,NoobFeed,Intelligent Systems,Nintendo Software Planning & Development

Released as three games Fire Emblem Fates is perhaps one of the most story rich games to come with. Requiring all versions of the game to fully grasp everything that’s happening this tactical RPG will test even the most hardcore veterans of the genre. Fire Emblem Fates will change your mind about Nintendo games being easy, this game isn’t for the faint of heart.

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess,NoobFeed,Nintendo,

If you’re like me the primary reason you brought this remake of Twilight Princess was for the Wolf Link amiibo, but as an added bonus you got a fantastic game. This remake updates the visuals of this already beautiful game and gives players the chance to experience one of the best Legend of Zelda games of all time. The final boss fight is still one of my personal favorite boss fights of all time.

Pokken Tournament,NoobFeed,Bandai Namco,

Pokken Tournament is exactly what every Pokemon fan has been demanding since the release of Red and Blue version on the Gameboy. The chance to actively control Pokemon during battles was a dream made real. Although the story left much to be desired and the selection of Pokemon was limited, with future DLC characters only available in the Japanese Arcade version, this game was the right step forward for the franchise. Now if Nintendo will just release these new fighters on the console version that would be great.

Pokémon Sun,Pokémon Moon,Nintendo,Game Freak,

You had to see this one coming, Pokémon Sun and Moon was more of the same with enough changes in the formula to make those who’ve abandoned the franchise to return. The removal of HM moves, trials replacing gym battles, and an excellent array of endgame challenges Pokemon Sun and Moon was a massive leap forward in the franchise. Judging from the sales a lot of people seem to agree that Pokemon Sun and Moon one of the best games of this year.

What were some of your favorite Nintendo games this year, let us know in the comments below.
