2016 is almost over and with it a generation of video game releases. We’ve seen a lot of great games but what were the best? Here are the top five Xbox One games of 2016.
How to do make a great game better, rerelease it with improved graphics, new areas, and much more! Ori and the Blind Forest released back in 2015 with critical acclaim and the Definitive Edition adds a bunch new content to an already extraordinary game.
The original Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare, when revealed, was faced with harsh criticism for going against its traditional RTS roots. When it released that opinion changed and it quickly gained a strong community, enough to warrant a full triple-a release with Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2. This new game not only added new characters but new costumes, elemental abilities, and maps. It was everything that made the original game great was plus with much more. The story mode was lacking but the intense competitive gameplay more than made up for it.
Frank West is back to take on the zombie horde in Dead Rising 4. Returning to Willamette Frank hopes to find a story that will propel him back to greatness. As a newcomer to the franchise, I instantly fell in love for the zombie slaying gameplay and robust weapons customization. It was a bit too easy but the entertaining gameplay and great story made this Christmas release a must play.
The open outback of the Australia is teeming with lush environments to race through. Each one provided new challenges and difference landscapes that required difference styles of racing. Coupled with a robust multiplayer mode and this racing game will tailor to action junky looking for high-speed gameplay.
With the original creator gone and the original trilogy finished Gears of War 4 had a lot to live up too. Gears of War 4 introduces a new threat while maintaining the franchise's signature high-speed gameplay mechanics. It’s more of what players loved about the franchise and that’s what we wanted from Gears of War 4.
