Blog Number Nine : Battlefield Heroes Beta

Hey there peeps! It's me , Woozie McWooz coming right out of the Battlefield Heroes Beta. I'm going to write all my thoughts on the game in the following lines.

First and foremost ,Battlefield Heroes is a free to play cartoon shooter developed by EA. It features Battlefield specific control point gameplay , put in a cartoonish WW2 enviroment.You can choose between three classes: the versatile soldier , the slow but resistant Gunner and the nimble Commando. I'm going to enlarge a bit upon the classes now.Note that each comes with 4 weapons and you can customize their looks and clothes.

-The Soldier : Comes in with a SMG , a Shotgun , a Medpack and Demo packs. He's useful at medium and close range mostly but can kill enemies at long range in certain situations.He can heal other members of the squad and is useful in most situations.

-The Gunner: Comes in with a LMG , a Shotgun , a perk that allows himself to be more resistant for a small amount of time and the Demo packs.He's useful in medium and close combat and mostly when around other members , since he's more of a support class. He's also the slowest class ingame.

-The Commando: Comes in with a Knife , a Sniper rifle , a cloaking skill and Demo packs.He's useful either at long range , when he can snipe targets or at close range where he slices enemies with his knife. The cloacking tool is very useful since it's permanent until you attack an enemy .. the cooldown time is rather long , but that's a solvable problem once he's sliced 3 enemies and retreated fastly

  Those are the available classes here in the beta. The gameplay , as I said , is all about capturing points and killing opponents.However , you can use more than your character here. You have tanks , jeeps and even planes. Each of these allowing you to get one or two more people with you. The hilarious part is the plane , because the wingmen are actually sitting on the wing! The fighting factions are the Royal Brits and the Nationalist Nazis.There are a few maps out there , most of them being pretty big for the slow movement speed characters have while on foot. There is no sprint button , so your only hope is to find a vehicle. So , as you see , the gameplay is rather slow-paced.

  The game also has a rather RPG-ish feature. The character levels up as you kill enemies and capture points. Every once in a while , you get Hero Points which you can spend on various abilities to improve your character according to your fighting style. Evenmore , you have a store option where you could spend your Valor Points on new clothes or weapons/widgets . The store option however also uses BattleFunds . These can only be purchased with real money and grant you access to rather awesomely looking gear.

  All I have to say is that it's a pretty neat game , that grants you fun whenever you want a casula shooter. The 3rd person view helps you in spotting enemies easier , the gameplay is a bit slow-paced but keeps you tied to playing it and the graphics are wacky.
