Everything We Know About Xbox Game Pass

Today Microsoft revealed their own version of EA Access called Xbox Game Pass. This service will allow gamers to download hundreds of Xbox One and Xbox 360 games for one monthly price. Here's is everything you need to know about the service.

Is Xbox Live Gold Needed?

No, you don't need Xbox Live Gold to access Xbox Game Pass. This service is separate but Xbox Live Gold is required to play games online.

What Games will be available?

Microsoft promises to deliver over 100 games when the service launches. Games from publishers 2K, 505 Games, BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment, Capcom, Codemasters, Deep Silver, Focus Home Interactive, SEGA, SNK CORPORATION, THQ Nordic GmbH, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Microsoft Studios are coming to the service. Microsoft did promise to bring Halo 5: Guardians, Payday 2, NBA2K16 and SoulCalibur II when the service goes live.

When does the service launch and how much is it?

Xbox Game Pass will launch on Spring 2017 and will cost $9.99 per month.

Are Xbox Game Pass Games streamed or downloaded, Can I play my games offline?

All Xbox Game Pass games will be downloaded to your Xbox One to prevent streaming/connectivity issues. You can play these games for offline 30-days.

Is there a limit?

No limit on how many games you can download, only your storage will determine that. Go nuts, download all the games you want.

This is not Xbox Live Games with Gold.

Unlike Xbox Games with Gold you don't own the games you download. 

How often do games get changed and how much is the discount to purchase the game?

Games will be updated every month. All Xbox Game Pass games will be discounted at 20% and add-ons 10%.

What happens if I cancel my subscription?

If cancelled you will no longer have access to Xbox Game Pass but all achievements and progress will remain attached to the account used.

Can I access Xbox Game Pass on Xbox 360?

No, this is an Xbox One service.
