GTA 6 will be much more detailed than earlier games. Rockstar is adding new aiming and weapon systems, smarter NPCs, seamless interiors, dynamic character physiques, and a relationship system that really affects gameplay. The series is moving toward a more open world. Here are some of the highlights.
Free-aim and the new Focus ability. The usual lock-on system seems less important in GTA 6, with free-aim options expected to play a bigger part. A new Focus ability should give you more control in combat. It marks lethal targets in red and non-lethal spots in yellow, so you can choose how to handle each encounter instead of just using auto-targeting.

You'll Have to Think About What Weapons You Carry
GTA 6 is also said to have a more limited weapon system. You can carry two hidden handguns and up to two long guns. Only one long gun can be on your back, while the other must be in your hands. If you need more weapons, you can use your personal vehicle for extra storage. You can keep extra gear there and swap it out as needed.
This is more realistic than carrying a whole arsenal with you at all times. Combat and movement are getting more depth. Combat isn't the only thing getting an upgrade. GTA 6 is expected to add timed parries and defensive blocking, making close combat more interesting.
Movement is also improved, letting you strafe while crouching and sprint by clicking the L3 stick. These updates could make gunfights and movement feel more responsive and intentional. NPCs and police will react to your actions. The game world is also getting more reactive.
NPCs reportedly won't simply ignore you. NPCs won't just ignore you if you walk around with a long gun. Witnesses can remember what you look like and what you're driving before they call the police—more thought than simply speeding away.
What you were wearing and what you were driving could become important when trying to avoid identification.
Cars, trunks, and buildings are more interactive. Interacting with vehicles is also expected to be more complex. You won't be able to steal every car instantly anymore. Sometimes, you'll have to play a lockpicking minigame. Trunks are now useful too, letting you store gear, hide bodies, or even hide yourself.

Buildings are also becoming more seamless. You can explore places like hotels without loading screens, making the world feel more connected. Crash physics are also improving, so collisions should feel heavier and more realistic. Your physique can change over time.
One of the more unique features is the dynamic physique system. Your character's body can reportedly change depending on how you live in the game. What you eat and how much you exercise can influence your physique.
Instead of picking a body type once and keeping it, your character's look reflects your habits as you play. Jason and Lucia are pulled into a larger conspiracy. The story follows Jason and Lucia as they get caught up in a criminal conspiracy that spans all of Leonida.
The plot includes corrupt agents, such as someone named Mendes, along with rich, powerful people operating across the region. This means GTA 6 might go beyond the usual crime story and explore a bigger web of corruption and rival groups. Interests.
Jason and Lucia's Relationship: Their relationship isn't just for the story, either.
Your choices can affect how much Jason and Lucia trust and how much they help each other. If you leave your partner behind in a fight or put them at risk, they might not work with you as well in future heists. That gives the relationship system real weight. This means the relationship system really matters for gameplay.
How you treat your partner could make future missions easier or harder: "Dating" Debate. The relationship mechanic. The relationship system has also sparked unexpected online discussions, with some describing the management of Jason and Lucia's relationship as "virtual cheating," turning a fictional gameplay mechanic into a surprisingly serious debate.

Rockstar has pushed back, saying you're guiding two set fictional characters, not personally role-playing a relationship. All controversy, but it shows how much attention the relationship mechanics have already attracted. GTA 6 is reportedly making major changes across almost every part of its gameplay.
Free-aim combat, the Focus ability, limited weapons, smarter police, interactive vehicles, seamless interiors, dynamic physiques, and a relationship system all make the world feel more alive. A topic of debate online, Rockstar may have created one of the most talked-about systems in the game before GTA 6 even launches.
