Is The Press In The Gaming Industry Filled With Assholes?

 

 

 

So GDC finished up and of course, the press was there. This contradicts what all the press say about GDC. This is probably a direct quote from someone

"This is GDC, a confrence for game developers. It is great to come here and see how the games are made and all the fun things you see about them. It is great to see the developers helping eachother solve problems in this industry, which is why press should not be here, they ruin it" said by some press guy.

Learn, network, inspire. No where does it say, Oh bring the press down and report news

So with that being said. Why are the press there? There is very minimal news there, a few game announcements here and there, but if there was no press, there would be no need for that. I'm not trying to be a dick here, as I love most of the press. Honestly guys, do you not see it. You are all hippocrits. You are like Al Gore trying to save the planet then flying everywhere in a huge private jet. I'm not sure how they don't understand it.

Maybe it's just me, I could give a shit about GDC. It is for the developers to share ideas and make better games, we have E3 in a couple months. I don't need news now. I think that the press just being there gives the developers stress to make a trailer or announce a game when it isn't ready. Just let them focus on the games.

The quality of the games for the most part in our day and age is getting better, but still some things some games do and others don't. If we let the developers do there thing maybe the matchmaking in Gears 2 wouldn't be so terrible. Maybe Hello Kitty Island Adventure wouldn't exist. Maybe people would stop making rip off's of good games, maybe people would make me some goddam eggs in the moring, maybe.. you see where im going.

Over the past few GDC's the press has become better at putting less pressure on the devs but overall, are still creating a savage hipocracy.

So no, the press arent assholes. The video game press is a savage hipocracy.
