R.I.P. Windsor Border Stars (2004-2009)

 

Today I learned the Border Stars, Windsor's semi-professional soccer team in the Canadian Soccer League, ceased operations. Apparently it had been news since late last month, but I just learned of it today.

 

Due to financial difficulty, the CSL revoked the team's place in the league and there is no longer a team in Windsor.

 

I was very excited for the season to begin for the team, I had even intended on buying a year-long pass equivalent to season tickets.

 

The only positive thing from this news is that the league wants to have another team in Windsor, calling it a "high priority" to return.

 

I'll be there from day one.
