E3 is almost here and these are the top ten most anticipated games.
10. The Last Guardian
Since Shadow of the Colossus launched people have been clamoring for the next installment in the cult hit series Ico. Since 2009 people have debating whether this project had been canceled when the trademark was abandoned back in 2015 before being picked up by Sony. With Uncharted 4 delayed until 2016 Sony has an opening for a blockbuster for the PS4 this holiday season. Hopefully we’ll see our feathery friend once again at E3
9. DOOM
Bethesda showed a trailer of DOOM behind closed doors at QuakeCon last year and recently released a teaser trailer to bait people int watching their conference, and it worked. With the promise of returning to classic mechanics and horrific death animations DOOM should get everyone ready to throw their wallets at the screen.
8. Assassin’s Creed Syndiate
Syndicate doesn’t seem like just an apology for Assassin’s Creed Unity, but a chance to redeem the franchise. Based in London and featuring both a male and female character Syndicate seeks to deliver the next-generation experience that was promised in Unity. Let’s hope Ubisoft has learned from their mistakes.
7. Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End
The next installment in the Uncharted series is going to be a big one. Since the game has been delayed until Spring 2016 we can expect a lot of gameplay videos showcasing the game. Judging by the footage we’ve already seen it’s looking that Uncharted 4 will be the best example of next-generation console technology. Hopefully we’ll also see some multiplayer footage soon.
6. Titanfall 2
Released in earl 2014 as an Xbox exclusive Titanfall 2 has been confirmed to be a cross-platform title. While it’s probably too early to expect it to release anytime soon either Sony or Microsoft could snag the exclusive rights to future DLC. Hopefully we’ll gain some answers at E3, perhaps an early Alpha look at the game in progress.
5. Need for Speed
After a rollercoaster of highs and lows the Need for Speed series has always excited fans and survived throughout the years. Last year a teaser trailer was published highlighting classic Porches and cops chasing drivers. Hopefully it’s not another disaster, we don’t want to see another Need for Speed: The Run train wreck.
4. Halo 5: Guardians
I cannot wait for the next installment in the Halo franchise. Although Halo: The Master Chief Collection disappointed many fans with lackluster multiplayer servers Halo 5 is Microsoft’s main press conference product to encourage people to purchase an Xbox One this Christmas. It’s no doubt that 343 Industries is going to deliver a smooth and highly additive experience, after all free content doesn’t make people forget.
3. Star Wars: Battlefront
With a November release already confirmed and a wide array of screenshots and impressive videos being published it’s hard to ignore the notoriety DICE’s project has generated. It’s hard to doubt that Battlefront will be a key focus at E3. Hopefully we’ll finally see some lightsaber duals.
2. Mass Effect 4
Last year EA talked about the next Mass Effect game and teased bits of information. We’ve seen images floating around highlighting that Mass Effect 4 won’t relate to the existing trilogy and who this “pathfinder” truly is. For now it’s best to take everything leaked with a gain of salt. It also means you cannot miss EA’s presentation.
1. Fallout 4
Although Bethesda has booked their own conference we have no idea if they’ll finally reveal Fallout 4. After seeing numerous fake teasers and multiple reports Fallout 4 is on everyone’s minds. If they don’t announce Fallout 4, in the words of Greg Miller, “Fuck them”.
