Adding little quirks to a Mii that don't change the whole design is one of the easiest ways to make it stand out. They make everyday life more interesting and help even the most boring people stand out more. Having a good quirk doesn't make up for having a bad personality. It makes it sharper.

Get the right person to go with the quirks

When a quirk fits the person who uses it, it works better. One odd trait can make calm Miis stand out more, while louder Miis often do better with quirks that push their main energy even more.

Think about how often you will use it

Even after a lot of scenes, the best quirks are still funny. Small, easy-to-read behaviors tend to last longer than effects that try too hard. Quirks should make the joke funnier, not make it boring right away.

Use strange things to tell apart designs that are similar

Two Miis may look the same, but their quirks can make them feel very different. That's why they're so important on bigger islands. They help the actors feel more like themselves without having to change their looks completely.
