What are some of the most awful games to come out this year?

2018 is ending in a few weeks and now that many of the big acclaimed games have released its time to look back, not at the best games but the most disappointing. Many titles have marketed themselves as incredible games with profound stories and thrilling gameplay but these games failed to deliver. Here are the top five most disappointing games of 2018.

Sea of Thieves,NoobFeed,Xbox,Rare,

5. Sea of Thieves

Sea of Thieves launch was similar to No Man's Sky. A lot of promises made but the game flopped hard due to lack of progression and content. Players found exploring the vast sea to be pointless within the first few hours before abandoning the title. While the game has gotten better it's still nowhere near the expectation fans had when it first went live.

Agony,NoobFeed,

4. Agony

Marketed as a horror gamers dream, Agony was a nightmare to play. The overuse of blood and violent imagery quickly lost appeal as gamers tried to navigate the labyrinth-like environments. What started off as a tense unnerving adventure instantly becomes a frustrating battle of patience as you attempt to find where to go. Red paths and the only thing to navigate was a bright white light.

The gameplay wasn't any better as you hide from more threating creatures and try to survive the horrors of hell. It sounds incredible in concept until you play and just manipulate the AI to bypass them. Up to the end, Agony attempts to terrify but instead makes you feel more nauseous than afraid.

State of Decay 2,NoobFeed,

3. State of Decay 2

It has become way too frequent for games to launch in unfinished states, with State of Decay 2 joining the list of premium early access titles. The gameplay was standard and provided a sufficient test of managing supplies and keeping survivors alive but the game suddenly became dull as you're showered with the same objectives over and over again. The bugs and glitches that players had to deal with were unsettling. Crashing, flying cars and zombies falling from the sky were so frequent that it became normal. If the gameplay was strong enough maybe these issues would be forgivable but with other survival-zombie titles other there State of Decay 2 just didn't live up to the enthusiasm generated by the first game.

We Happy Few,NoobFeed,Compulsion Games,

2. We Happy Few

Seeing a tread with this list? We Happy Few launched in an unfinished state as well. Despite being in early access the game's launch was full of bugs and issues that hampered the gameplay. The long adventure had players attempting to maintain their cover by consuming a drug called Joy but at the cost of their own sanity, which was a promising feature until you start playing. The huge number of fetch quests, long runs from place to place, and unpredictable bugs made playing We Happy Few a chore.

The game had promise but the execution of the idea was poor. If you play this game you better than a lot of Joy because you're going to feel a lot of anger.

Fallout 76,NoobFeed,Bethesda,

1. Fallout 76

Ignoring the horrible customer service following Fallout 76 the game itself was a technical failure. The glitches and bugs within the game were overwhelming, with many arguing that the game should've been launched as an early access title. Even looking past the massive technical problems Fallout 76 featured a lackluster story, unstable multiplayer, an unbalanced single-player experience, and lack of meaningful progression.

Fallout 76 is not only one of the unsatisfactory rated games this generation but has broken the trust gamers had with this once beloved company. With many questioning Bethesda's abilities to not repeat the many mistakes of Fallout 76.
