Romance could be messy complicated, confusing, depressing and exciting. In video games rarely do developers get it right, attempting to bridge those feelings of uncertainly and desire from the character to the player. Whether it’s wondering if Cloud and Tifa will finally have their happy ending or seeing Hawke admitting his feelings for Anders, however the result is sometimes what encourages gamers to try multiple combinations. I’m of course talking about sex, and these are the top 5 sex scenes in video games.

5. Cirta - Far Cry 3

The second you meet Cirta it’s immediately clear that this was no ordinary character. Strong, valiant, determined, insane and an accomplished leader Cirta seeks to create the ultimate warrior. Jason Brody is smitten by her beauty and in the end, if the player chooses to sacrifice his friends, will passionately plow Cirta followed by his own death at the hands of this mad woman. Cirta wanted the greatest warrior, however she wanted to raise her child alone.

4. Tali’Zorah nar Rayya - Mass Effect 2

Perhaps one of the most popular characters in the Mass Effect franchise, fans demanded that Tali become a romance option for Mass Effect 2. BioWare heard these requests and gave fans what they wanted, however it was no easy task. Tali, being a Quarian, had a weakened immune system and was isolated from the world, seeing everything through a suit. Despite this Tali heavily respected Shepard but her condition prevented her from following through with her emotions. In the end, if the player chooses, Tali puts herself at risk to spend one night with Shepard without any barriers. While flooded with mucus Tali assures Shepard that it was totally worth it, twice.

3. Triss Merigold - The Witcher 3

Despite finally finding Yennefer after a long and arduous journey players can choose between Yennefer or Triss. Perhaps the hardest choice in the entire game, with both Triss and Yennefer showcasing powerful feelings for the Witcher. While both offer incredible sex scenes, one on a unicorn and another atop a lighthouse where their shadows are mistaken for a message, what makes Triss’s romance scene more satisfying is having Geralt tell the redheaded mage that he loves her before loosing her forever. 

2. Morrigan - Dragon Age: Origins

While Morrigan starts off cynical and pretentious she eventually warms up to the player, even going as far to care for him. However despite your previous actions Morrigan will appear during the final events of the game regardless of your relationship with her. Before the last battle Morrigan offers the Gray Warden a chance at survival, simply impregnate her and have the energy, that would kill the Warden, from kill the Archdemon transfer to their unborn child: creating a God. Talk about having a child destined for greatness.

1. Aphrodite - God of War 3

Kratos is known for killing powerful creatures and conquering impossible goals, however no God of War game is complete without a sex minigame. In God of War 3 Kratos decides to kill ever God on Mount Olympus for the atrocities committed against him, leaving only the Goddess of Love Aphrodite alive for obvious reasons. Kratos isn’t only known for killing Gods but pleasing them as well.
