Gamers in the EU and AUS territories were able to obtain physical copies of Final Fantasy VII Remake due to shipping issues. Square Enix sent early copies to retailers due to the COVID-19 outbreak to ensure copies made it to their destination. However, Square Enix will not release the game early on digital stores due to logisticial issues.

“Changing the digital release date at this point-in-time could lead to logistical issues that could disrupt the digital launch for everyone,” it said on its support page. “Therefore, we will be adhering to an April 10 digital release date.”

Judging from the language Square Enix considered releasing the game early but decided against it. A demo is available that allows players to play through the first mission of the game if you to try the game before it launches. In addition, the FINAL TRAILER can be watched now but be warned it contains a lot of spoilers.

Final Fantasy VII Remake launches on April 10th for PS4.
