Today new massive details surfaced about Resident Evil Village ahead of the live stream set for April 15th. With IGN gaining access to new images showing off the map, Mother Miranda, and a better look at Ethan Winters.

The map highlights 4 locations within the area. We have Castle Dumitrescu, the factory, the windmills, and a reservoir with a monster shown. As with past Resident Evil games, players can expect new enemies distinct to each area.

Mother Miranda is a huge figure that Lady Dumitrescu answers to. In the latest footage we find out about a ceremony and the villagers are seen chanting her name similar to Saddler from Resident Evil 4. With the first image of the enigmatic person. Showing her as an angelic creature but with little features to go on.

The final image is a portrait showing off Ethan, followed by Chris, and Mother Miranda on the bottom.

“The mask resembles a crow’s beak,” Takano says. “As a symbol of horror, crows function as a theme for Village in its entirety as well, and they appear in the actual game. Since she has a symbolic role within the village, we implemented that same design theme for Mother Miranda.”

The image does show Ethan as the hero of the tale with his image covered in lighter colors as opposed to Chris appearing in gray. Since Resident Evil 7 Chris has seemed to have fallen from grace, with the expansion Not a Hero indicating the hero's new path. This image could indicate Chris walking a grayer area as he perhaps works with the devil for the greater good.

Resident Evil Village will be released on May 7 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
