Developed by Remedy Entertainment and Rockstar Studios, Max Payne became an instant hit when it came out in the year 2001. The same went for its sequel. Quickly, Max Payne became a legend that players still talk about to this day. Remedy and Rockstar have recently made a “surprise announcement” in which they confirmed the remake of the first and the second games of the series for different platforms such as PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X.
This new game reportedly will be developed on the Northlight game engine that the Remedy studios also used to develop their latest launch, Control. Although there is no certain date, we know that the game is “in development stage.”
Though the game is coming out to almost all the newer consoles, there are reportedly no plans to launch it for the previous generations. The remakes are also reported to have big budgets, like those of the other triple-A games that came out recently.
Remakes may not excite everyone, but it is essential to remember that the original team is involved. This means that they probably will not stray away from the original games because they have first-hand access to the materials, no matter how old the games are.
