Along with announcing the release date for the highly anticipated 3D action-adventure role-playing game, XEL, publisher Assemble Entertainment, and developer Tiny Roar have published a new cinematic trailer that provides a sneak peek at the game's story. The epic sci-fi odyssey of Reid, a young woman who gets stuck on a strange and exotic alien planet, will be told in the video game XEL, which is scheduled to crash land on PC and Nintendo Switch.
After being stranded on the beautiful and exotic planet of XEL, Reid is forced to go out into the world and start putting together the pieces of her shattered memory. Reid must use her power to hop between space and time, assisted by her colorful companion Chap, to uncover the dark mysteries of the planet on which she arrived and determine her link to it.
XEL is a throwback to the days of top-down role-playing games and captures the sentimental atmosphere of the original Zelda games. The universe of XEL is a labor of love for the developers; it combines traditional concepts with modernized gameplay, and the whole thing is wrapped up in a gripping science-fiction mystery. Something dreadful is hidden on the planet XEL, and its shadow is cast over all of space and time. Players to unravel the riddle of Reid's past so that neither she nor her world is condemned.
On July 12, 2022, XEL will be available for purchase on the Nintendo Switch and Windows PCs via Steam and GOG. a demo version of the first thirty minutes of the adventure is now playable on Steam. PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S versions will also be released later this year.
