After the success of puzzle platformer Shady Part of Me under their belts, publisher Focus Entertainment and developers Douze Dixièmes are gearing up to work together again on a new sci-fi adventure called MIO: Memories in Orbit. The game will blend elements of Metroidvania with an innovative creative concept. Among the games that were revealed at the Nintendo Direct June 2024, MIO: Memories in Orbit definitely stole the show.

MIO: Memories in Orbit

MIO: Memories in Orbit tells the story of a robot named MIO, who embarks on an adventure to discover and conquer the Vessel, a massive spaceship that resembles a maze, in order to preserve it from existence. MIO is a highly agile robot with superpowers. MIO's awakening takes place on the Vessel, a starship that seems to be floating through space without a purpose. The massive technological ark, the original goal of which is shrouded in mystery, now sits in ruins on an expanse of verdant plants and enraged machines.
Playing as MIO, you'll uncover the secrets of this technological maze and bring back its long-lost memories. Along the way, you'll discover the ship's mysteries, confront a terrifying bestiary, and get access to new skills and abilities that will allow you to explore more of the Vessel.
The first trailer for MIO: Memories in Orbit was shown off exclusively at the Nintendo Direct June 2024 event, and showcased gameplay that is as intense as it is varied, and it immerses players in a world that is both opulent and captivating, offering breathtaking landscapes.

Focus Entertainment will release more details about the game and how it works in the coming months. MIO: Memories in Orbit is set to release in 2025 on the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
