Gamescom 2013 - New Batman: Arkham Origins Screenshots & Trailer

Must we wait until October 25th to play?

Gamescom 2013 has delivered again, with seven new screenshots from the upcoming Warner Brothers game, and prequel to two of the most well received Batman games to date, Batman: Arkham Origins.

As we know, for the prequel the premise of the game is that Black Mask has hired 8 "assassins" to take out Batman on Christmas eve. Batman is still relatively new to the superhero game at this point, but from everything we've seen so far, he should still be able to kick every bit as much ass as he has in the previous two games.

Firefly was the latest of the 8 assassins to be revealed, joining the Joker, Deathstroke, Copperhead, and Bane. We've also seen screenshots of Anarky and The Mad Hatter, and a video with Deadshot in it, so that might be the 8, or perhaps some of them are just mid-level bosses along the way.

The caped crusader has at least one new trick up his sleeves in this game as well, with the introduction of Shock Gloves. The Shock Gloves allow Batman to block electric attacks, instantly disable some enemies and stun shielded ones, and short circuit some objects within the environment, which will likely help open new areas to explore.

All in all, these new screens and trailer only strengthened my desire to pick up this title and kick some rogue's gallery ass as the world's greatest detective one more time. Batman: Arkham Origins is due out on the PS3 and XBox 360 on October 25th.
