Family Guy: The Quest for Stuff is not a great game. In fact, it’s not even good of any sort. We wanted to review it, but then we sort of, well, gave up. That’s what happens when every five actions require you to either wait eight hours or pay up. It’s a “free” game, but in that Dungeon Keeper mobile free sense that it really isn’t.

Well, thanks to San Diego Comic-Con 2014, some celebrity fanfare might interest you to pick up the free mobile game anyway. To boost character unlock options, the clicking adventure will add a slew of nerd favorites. We’ll show you the additions in their in-game representation. We might even throw in a reference or two, since Family Guy is all about references.

George Takei: Star Trek

Nathan Fillion: Firefly

Ron Perlman: Hellboy

Stan Lee: All things Marvel

Bryan Cranston: Breaking Bad

Felicia Day: Getting called out on Twitter

For those who really want to know what Family Guy: The Quest for Stuff, before diving in: You click on characters and let them perform certain automated tasks that take an allotted amount of time to complete. These actions yield experience and items that can be used to unlock more characters and goods. Items can be used to slowly, ever so slowly rebuild the town of Quahog as you see fit. During gameplay, you’ll constantly be barraged with lame jokes, even for Family Guy standards. We usually love the show’s humor, but these one-liners are as corny and predictable as they come. We suspect some B-team of writers came up with them, possibly some executive’s cousin. It’s really not worth your effort, but you can try. It’s still free, essentially.
