Nintendo's next gaming console, codenamed NX, has been a mystery. With the exception of a March 2017's launch date and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild confirmed for the system Nintendo hasn't officially revealed anything. Now the system is rumored to enter into trial production.
According to DigiTime, a Taiwanese manufacturing company Foxconn, a trial production of the system has begun and that Misumi Electronics and Hosiden are taking part in it as well. The production goal is around 10 million units per year.
Foxconn is in a lot major manufacturing electronics such as the Xbox and iPhone so it merits validity.
Trial production doesn't mean doesn't mean units are being produced. Instead it's when manufacturers does a test run of production so they can work out any issues for when production really begins.
The Nintendo NX hasn't been shown in any capacity. Rumors, leaked images, and reports have indicated that the system is a powerful handheld console that displays on a TV, similar to the Gamecube Gameboy Advance concept. Also reported is that the system will use cartridges instead of disc, at least according to a trademark for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
The Nintendo NX is set to release in March 2017 with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild as its first launch title.
