Hitting the level cap in Final Fantasy XV isn't as difficult as other games in the franchise and Square Enix is raising the level cap in the next update along with a lot of other positive updates.
According to Square Enix's Active Time Report on February 21st the update will:
Increase the level cap from 99 to 120
Update visuals to 1080p/60FPS (PS4 Pro)
Photo Limit to 200 (Originally 150)
In-game music player while riding Chocobos
It's unclear whether the enemies will also increase in level following this update. Enemies, specially super-bosses, tend to be higher level than the player can obtain to ensure a challenging fight.
Final Fantasy XV is now available for Xbox One and PS4.
