Star Wars Battlefront II recently released a new content update featuring The Last Jedi. Now the developers have outlined what gamers can expect from the game over the course of months.

First, the game is a revamped progression system. The original system heavily focused on loot boxes and microtransactions to improve a player's performance which caused massive community backlash leading up to the removal of the game's in-game currency after Disney's intervention.

A new game mode called Jetpack Cargo will come next month and feature 8v8 competitive matches. This is a limited time mode but no specific dates were given.

Lastly, a new season has been confirmed. No information of this includes and is just a confirmation.

  • We're working on a  revamped progression system. Your feedback has been essential here, and we are preparing significant changes to progression that will address many of the things we've seen players asking for. We'll be sharing more details about these changes in March.
  • A game mode called Jetpack Cargo is coming in February. Two teams of eight players  equipped with jet packs compete in Jetpack Cargo, a frantic, fast-paced way to play. This mode will only be available for a limited time, so don’t miss it.
  • A new Season is coming soon. We’ve learned a lot from the first season of content for Star Wars Battlefront II, and we're integrating those insights into our plans moving forward. We know you’re waiting for details on what’s coming in the next season, and we’ll have more to tell you soon.

EA did share details for the first season of Star Wars Battlefront II. According to the data, The First Order won this season, Finn took down over 18 million players, and Phasma only had 8.2 million takedowns.

Star Wars Battlefront II is now available for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
