Studio Question, consisting of former BioShock and Dishonored developers who released the well-received The Magic Circle, has announced a new game. Called The Blackout Club this horror game is a first-person horror game.
In The Blackout Club, a group of teenagers living in a small town are all experiencing strange blackouts and waking up in seemingly random locations. One of their friends goes missing and the town is dismissive of their accounts. They join together to solve the mystery, learning that the town's adults are up to some strange activities.
The Blackout Club will feature customizable characters that have their own unique abilities that can be upgraded at the end of each mission. The game will support 4-player drop-in, drop-out co-op. Players will have to work together to explore and piece together evidence.
The teaser trailer provides a lot of spooky elements such as mass hysteria and running from appears to be disfigured humans. The trailer does show what appears to be a glimpse of a flashlight meter on a phone. Judging from the short teaser it's likely the game will play like Outlast, running from your pursuers instead of engaging them.
Blackout Club is poised to launch on PS4, Xbox One and PCs in the first quarter of 2019
