Sci-fi turn-based strategy title Deep Sky Derelicts got a little bigger today with its 0.4 update going live. Dubbed "Friends In Dark Places", it unlocks all the Ability Specializations, while adding the option of retiring and replacing mercenaries at the bar. Characters now have personalities, which offer slight stat boosts and specific quips during combat. Some more customization options were also added, alongside a good number of balance changes and fixes. Have a look at the full list of changes.
Snowhound Games have also announced that they will extend the game's development time by three months. The player feedback received so far is part of the reason for the shift in release date, as the studio will aim to "deliver a final product that will to not only meet your expectations but will exceed them." Two new major updates will be released in the added three months, which means Deep Sky Derelicts is now set to release on September 6th. For specifics on what each update will contain, give the updated Early Access Roadmap a read.
I previewed Deep Sky Derelicts back in January and found it to be quite promising. The news of added development time and planned extra content does sound like a good move.
